I know I am not as frequent here as others, so I'll just repond when I get a chance. Why, instead of offering a constructive point do you try to drive the discussion back to the "dems vs reps"? If you keep driving this point then all it will do in my case I will once again take reps's side over dems's side on the "lesser evil" merits. I will agree that it is an unfortunate reality that the political arena today boils down to a two-party system. However, I believe that the only realistic way to change it is by focusing on issues rather than candidates. Watch any political ad out there - all they do is spit at each other. Still won't figure out who is running on which platform. If there is a dem with a platform that I agree with most, I will vote for such a candidate. Currently, just like Egor mentioned, I am finding harder time finding a quality candidate in either camp. So as far as I am concerned - I would much rather go with an independant or even Libretarian, as long as their platform will consist of issues and items that I am concerned with and their position on those will be closest to mine. To answer the comment on checks and balances - the only form that I have seen it take lately between dems and reps is basically fighting each other viciously no matter what the issue is, just for the sake of fighting each other.

Not nice to patronize the disadvantaged I thoroughly enjoyed reading that link. Detstvo vspomnil... I do concede one point - if there is specific issue that you depend on the government for, and you are convinced that your candidate is truthful about defending it, and the other is truthful about not defending it, and there is nothing else you care about in life - by all means... Vote for clown X versus clown Y, and then keep your finger's crossed chto opyat' ne na*bali.. But if that describes you, you are in the wrong country anyway. Too dependent. We don't do that here. Your candidate will stab you in the back. You are just being U S E D Just my IMHO, as usual.

I am actually in pretty good spirits. Everything will be ok i think.. Just more of the same. The key is to need nothing from your government. That is my goal in life - be as independent from the circus as possible and take care of myself. I don't need them to push my private fantasies into reality against the will of the people. Which motivates some voters. I don;t need them to give me money, which motivates others. Foreign policy is a mess, but we can get used to that. As long as capitalism is holding this country up, and it will for the forseeable future, I am fine w all that Well, not fine, but hopeless regardless of party. But' I am pissed off about how my taxes are spent, and that we have Enron for a government. And that everyone who votes tomorrow, is a part of the pillar holding it all up ________________________________________ "не нужно навязывать себе своё мнение" -anonymous
