I dropped it when I realized you weren't paying attention. You conceded to my original argument that americans donate more, when you began discussing reasons for it. You do not seem to understand the percentage of income argument, or the 10% kickback argument, and I am not a math teacher. Your argument is based on some future russian generation turning to charity obsessed culture, like americans? That doesn;t contradict any of my arguments. I hope they will. That's the recap James Sappho can think she won, (she always does), but as long as the sky is blue and american donations keep increasing every year setting records (even as a percentage of GDP, personal income, poor people giving), I am totally comfortable w my arguments 2006 was a new record on all 3. 2007 will be another record. Look it all up.

... Do you know the original argument? Obviously, you don't. I never said that Americans donated less. All I said that Russians are not COLD HEARTED, as Pomidorchik's been saying post, after post, after post. His reasoning behind the Russian coldheartedness was that they donate less than Americans. Go figure! My argument was "economical:" 1) they have less; 2) they are just beginning to enjoy the material goods (the upper levels of the tiny middle class, not counting the wealthy ones), etc.

Two typos in a row make it for a strange coincidence, especially, a typo in Russian "сапхо" vs. "сапфо" - letters "х" and "ф" being on the opposite sites of the Russian keyboard. Calling this a typo would be stretching it a bit too far :) As far as Freud goes, you are the one assuming here because I found no "bad" or "worse" in his play on words. I found it to be rather clever! :)
