    Pochemu tut nikogo net?

dudes and gals, i was reading all this and crying, and laughing, and crying again, and laughing again, and so on.....why, u'll ask me ? i don't know, probably wrong medication.....but seriously, all that was proposed sounds feasible, though the auction visitors may end up in jail, under medieval local laws this innnocent fun may be considered "love for money', if u know what i mean, wich only makes it more interesting...but the opportunities are endless here, for example those lucky ones who will not be taken after the first round of bidding we can run thru again at SALE prices....."speed dating" sounds like a very technocratic and wholesale approach to what is supposed to be sensual and exclusive, but, as Lionya said, whatever works... BUT BEFORE ALL THAT: PEOPLE, I AM NOT THE BEAUTY QUEEN , YET I MANAGED TO POST MY PIC FOR EVERYONE TO BE SCARED, AND I WISH EVERYONE DID THE SAME - THAT WOULD BE THE FIRST NICE (AND EASY) STEP TO KNOWING EACH OTHER BETTER....

I gotta say that the idea of Speed Dating (which I observed on "Sex and the City" once) kinda rubs me the wrong way. It's like an all-you-can-eat buffet, where for a very small price you can get a lot of mediocre stuff. But not much quality... How much can you get to know about a person in 3 minutes.. ?Maybe they're having a bad 3 minutes.. maybe their goldfish just died, but you'll judge them based on those minutes and form a decision.. I don't know.. I'll sit that one out, I think

yeah, may be their gold fish not just died, but was brutally murdered by their pet hamster who afterwards hung himself out of depression and to escape prosecution...Alla, i'm with u.....

Alla, I don't have any positive or negative experience with Speed Dating. Several people told me that they saw it on Sex and the City. I guess it didn't work out well on the show. Taking your all-you-can-eat buffet analogy, wouldn't you rather have an option to try all the different things before you find the food you like instead of ordering something and their realizing that you can't eat it? And not all all-you-can-eat buffets are of bad quality. I recently went to one Argentinean restaurant. The have really good meat there (no pun intended). 3 minutes is usually not enough to know if the person is right for you, but usually more then enough to know if she/he is wrong. Honestly, I don't think speed dating would work in our case for a different reason: I don't think we can get enough people to participate. Party is probably simpler to implement, but people who are not very outgoing when it comes to meeting people usually don't get a change to talk to anybody they don't know already. Some king of game that involves everybody would probably make it simpler. My 2 shekels

ok, let's say it bluntly, if this "speed dating" included having sex, we would get tons of participants in no time, an those 3 minutes would be remembered forever...so why after all not to add this option to a menu ? don't they say "if nothing works - anything goes" ? and it's aslo true that sooner o later every community comes to a point when an orgy is the only answer to everybody's needs and problems, Roman Empire had a huge orgy just before it seized to exist, Atlantida - same way, France has it evry 100 or so years, and they are still kicking ! that was my 3 rublya 50 kopek.....

Stas, ya chitayu tvoi posty and I'm really impressed. i think you're funny and smart. How can you explain that you're still single??? P.C. to Alla - Einat eto genskoe izrailskoe imya - tak chto chtoby ne voznikalA. A voobshe spasibo.

ok so it seems like there are only two options: just have a party and get all the singles together, preferrably in somewhat equal numbers. another option...well, that won't work, reading the reply from Stas, the 3 minute one, so yeah, lets just forget the second option :) Seriously, you all singles should just get together and have one big party. MJCC also has turbo dating, 5min/person.

Well, I don't know how factual is the information about France having an orgy every century, and looking at the Roman Empire and others - mi ne xotim shtob nas postigla ta je uchast' shto postigla ix... but anywho... Kostya, I see the logic of the All-the-Speed-You-Can-Buffet idea. I just think a lot of people here have already "been to the buffet" and now are looking for more of a sit-down kind of meal, you know..

Ohh....well Orgies..., all-you-can-speed-buffet with fortune cookies (where you finally find that it was not a chicken)..., turbo-charge dating, angry hamster ate a fish,... sounds almost an like an episode from classic Woody Allen's tragic comedies. C'mon poor single, hangry, Russian Atlantians. Let's just meet! Intermezzo cafe was just a good start (Thanks to Kostia), but don't let it die out. One idea that might sound plausible (I know that some russian parties organize it this way) is to rent a club house in subdivision or apt. complex for an evening and have everyone to bring something (not a fried gold fish or killed hamster pet though :) Where is the spirit? Oh I know, probably sitting crouched over keyboard and saying, "let see what are they up to now..." That was my 0.5$

Gospodin Koroviev (a kto tut togda, interesno, Voland, Kot-Begemot i Azazello?), if you have noticed, we already tried to arrange a cookout get together(see Upcoming Events section), but we had a hard time agreeing on the date. Also, there were only 10 people who voted at all. I don't quite understand this guerilla tactics of many people who visit the forum - they read the posts, but never post anything. There are only a handful of "enthusiasts" here who are active. With this attitude, it is very difficult to arrange anything. So, if you want to arrange a party at a clubhouse, go ahead, I wish you luck :))

Alex, Thanks for adimiring, but it is just "koroviev". Gospoda.. like said O. Bender, "remained in Paris." Who and where is the rest of the misterious crew I don't know. Must be flying somewhere. Sorry, Just joking. This is just a pseudonym and that is all. I know, I saw the poll and other chit-chat: "...grustno barishni". Looks like everyone is busy (I am myself looking forward to escape for a while to sunny Florida) I would be happy to help to organize a event (may be a Suharevskuyu Konvenziu), but let see what the other "poor kids of lutenant Schmidt" will have to say :)

Einat, thanx for compliments, u flatter me, and the answer to your question - i don't know...may be it's my crossdressing hobby.. ...now, i undestand Natasha's scepticism regarding technical difficulties that some orgy participants might run into - but now there is Viagra, so....but ok, u don't want it - i don't either, i was just trying to help u, people, sometimes the best results come from most unconventional solutions....and the info regarding France is factual, no doubdt, they just call it "Revolution", to describe the enormous scale of the event....
