My opinion of ATL area stores from this website

I just got home from a short vacation to the ATL area and had to let everyone know how much I liked the area. I used the listings from this website to find stores and restaurants to go to. Unfortunately, many of them no longer existed.

My favorite store is Arbat's on Spalding Rd. in Norcross. The people were very friendly and helpful. We were given many samples to try. They have a large variety of everything. I found everything I was looking for and the prices were good. I recommend this store to everyone. I was hoping to go to a Russian restaurant but Moscow Restaurant was closed and Nikolai's Roof was way to expensive. Also it is not Russian. It is French. I ended up buying some Pelmeni at the store instead. I was disappointed at how many of the businesses listed were closed. I recommend you call before making the trip

I tried Arbat's on Spalding Road and got food poisoning.  I hear they are going out of business, so don't bother going there.

For truly amazing Russian food, try Moscow (in Russia).  Otherwise, check out Zagat.com for a listing of Atlanta' s best restaurants.

    Viktoria,

Thank you for feedback on Russian restaurants and stores in Atlanta.  Glad you enjoyed your trip to Atlanta.

If you look at the restaurants page, all but 3 restaurants are closed -- Crown Pizza, Kabob House, and Verdi Restaurant (which is now on sale).  But there are few more open Russian stores.

If you find a store that is no longer in business or a new russian food store in Atlanta that is not listed in the directory, please let me know.

We get food at Arbat all the time (the same one on Spalding Rd.) and never had any problems. They are indeed nice and they do have pretty good prices. So I also recommend it.

I was just kidding about Arbat's in my previous post - I figured if it was a 'fake ad' posted by the owners that they would freak out.  Glad you have never had any problems!  lol

    I thought so, James.

Food poisonings are notoriously overreported. I report them regularly to work from home.
