    Sappho:
    KGBMan:

Why would he do that ??

Because he is "clean, shaven and neat."

or because he's "other half" has none of those qualities ?

She does, otherwise, she wouldn't have cared.  Wink

Frankly, I don't care if you leave the toilet seat up or down.  I have working hands and it takes less than one second to put it in the desired position.  As for touching the seat, I have soap and sink and I'm going to use them after I've visited the facilities anyway.  Aim is far more important.  Therefore if someone has the qualities KGBMan mentioned, I'd consider myself very fortunate.

    ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

    1. Teenage girls and (even worse) women of any age, who suddenly meet each other somewhere and start screaming loudly: "OMG! Nancy (Kerry, Mary, Shmary) I haven't seen you like forever! You look like wonderful! It's like fantastic!". EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

    2. People in the line to the cash registrar, who start looking for moeny, cards, cheques and counting them at the very last moment after they are being told the amount. I WANNA KILL THESE.

People who write checks at the register, need to be taken outside and shot in the head.

I was thinking how to formulate this statement but you were ahead of me and done excellent job! I will print this and make a car sticker.

Why? Since when did "plastic" become the only acceptable form of payment? There was a commercial with the follownig plot: customers are purchasing something at a store, everyone is using their credit/debit cards, there is color everywhere, there is a rhythm, there is movement, however, everything stops and becomes bleak when one customer dares to write a check or pay cash for the item. What's wrong with that?! This perpetuating of the notion that everyone must keep up with the fast pace of life or otherwise life loses its colors is obsene.

I agree, Sappho, there is nothing wrong with it. Hope you are behind me in line when I write a check at the register. My other good habits are:

    - usage of smelly lotions in public places (hand lotions)

    - histerical clicking of the pen

    - "restless leg syndrome"

    - biting of the nails

    - chewing with open mouth / talking while chewing

    - eating food in line to the register

    - can't part with my gadgets (ear piece, cell phone, computer, etc.)

    - talking on my cell phone loudly while in the line to the register

    Re: Pet Peeves

Yes, the freaking pace is the reason. I wasn't applying to checks in particular.

I usually make sure that all my cards are with me and or have the right amount of cash.  And I try to do everything FAST. People who start searching for purses, looking for cards, counting cash, LOOKING FOR FREKING PENNIES to make it "exact" - simply annoy me.

I agree with Alina. This is about pace. Writing check at the register is disrespect for everyone else. If check would be the only option then you have no choice. But when you have cash, debit cards and credit cards which allow make transaction quick writing check is simply rude. Same type of rudeness and disrespect for rest of people as dialing a cell phone on the intersection and holding traffic when light is green.

    Re: Pet Peeves

They don;t annoy me as much if they start writing the check early, and just have to fill in the amount at the end :)  It can be faster that completing a credit card transaction.

Sappho, there's some truth in what you are saying, but if I want to live my life "slowly", i'd like that to be my choice..  Some people are in a hurry that day - you never know, like Sergey says, its disrespectful.

Then someone writing a check at the register should be the least of your concerns/problems Big Smile

OK, the situation you describe IS annoying as hell. However, if someone pulls out a check book and quickly writes the amount, I am not bothered at all.

Then, by the same logic, if you choose to lead a fast-paced life, why should someone who chooses to slow down switch his/her pace of life because of you?

In my opinion, people who are in a constant hurry, as if they have a battery stuck up their a$$es, are just as annoying as the a$$-dragging slow pokes.
