    Tica Cabin Rentals - STAY AWAY

    Tica Cabin Rentals of Ellijay, GA (aka Mountain Geteaway Property Management). These people do not care about their customers and do not care about their reputation either.

     

    My family (8 members) just came back from this so-called weekend getaway, which was filled with nothing but stress. The cabin we originally booked was located on what seems like the highest hill in the world. We arrived to the cabin and found out that the hill was so steep (made out of gravel) that it was impossible for our vehicles (one sedan and one mini van) to get up there. The owner who owns the property did not notify Tica Cabins of a new septic tank replacement which took place a few days prior to our arrival. The construction company had destroyed the road with their bulldozers. The representative from Tica Cabins (Angie) was at the property at the time and we told her that there was no way our vehicles could make it up the hill, so she took us to another property located 20 minutes away. The first night there (Thursday to Friday), we started to smell gas and could not understand where it was coming from since the fireplace was off. Two of our family members were sleeping in the lower lever bedroom and had woken up with major headaches and nausea the following morning. We called the office to notify them of this situation and they told us they were going to send over a housekeeper to check. The housekeeper cut off the gas to the entire cabin and told us to open windows. A few hours later the gas company came up and told us that there was a gas leak coming from the roof and all the way down to the side of the wall in the lower level bedroom. The following morning (Saturday), we woke up and found out that there is no water and nobody in our party of 8 could take a shower, nor could cook any food. We called the manager on duty (which was Angie) and she called the guy to come check the dwelling. It turned out that the well had run out of water and they pulled hoses from a cabin next door to pump water into our well. We told the (Angie) the rep that we were very upset and this has ruined our vacation. She agreed to call the Property Manager (Brian Linkous) to ask him what he can do for us for our trouble. He simply said these were minor things we were dealing with (our family could have been poisoned by gas!!!)  and that he was too busy (in meetings) to come out and talk to us in person. After telling the rep what we wanted, she called the financial office lady (Laura) and told her to deal with us. At that point the financial lady calls us and tells us that all these issues that had happened were not their fault and that they would give us one night free for the trouble. She did not want to argue with us any longer, and said that either she will give us a full refund and we check out immediately (originally checkout day was Sunday), or she will give us one night free. When we told her about the gas leak she said these things happen and that the housekeeper told us to get out of the house. She didn’t want to listen when we told her that the housekeeper never told us to leave the cabin, she simply told us to open the window (blaming us for lying). After many minutes of arguing back and forth, we hung up. We all packed up our stuff and left.

     

    Let’s just say my family and I will not come back and we will never use Tica Cabin Rentals to book any of their properties. This company obviously does not care about their customers and do not know how to keep their customers happy. This has ruined an entire weekend for 8 people in our family and instead of enjoying ourselves; we were dealing with issues every single day during our stay.
